Cat toy - charging cables?

My foster cat loves to play, but only with my ipod charging cable or my earphones. They don't make ideal toys because a) I don't want them to break, and b) the cable has metal bits on the ends.

Is there anything I can get which is like that? She has feathers/birds on the end of sticks but they all seem to lack the weight/texture she's looking for.

I'd go for a completely new texture myself - to try to take her mind off wormy things. Do you have anything she can pummel and 'kill' - drag around etc?

This is a brilliant toy , Cat really loves it! I got it for a fiver so shop around.

Sometimes big boxes come with semi-rigid strapping round them, DBro's cats love this as it sort of twitches randomly.

Our cats like the Kong Wubba toys - only a couple of quid and sort of Octopus shaped so they have the dangly bits.
Unfortunately though no matter what toys we get them they always prefer the ones they're not allowed!
