Advantage flea drops ...

Always use advantage flea drops and have no problems with them. My gorgeous boy is 4.1 kg ... I usually use the drops up to 4 kg, dh wonders if we should start getting the over 4 kg ones. Any thoughts/experience?

Mine is about the same weight - think he was 4.2 at his last visit - I use the ones for over 4kg.
He also has a very thick coat so I think he could do with the larger pipette to get through the fur.

Thanks hey ... mine's a slender slinky short hair so we don't have problems with getting through the fur. It's tricky being on the borderline .... my feeling was that he's only 100g over the weight so giving him double the dose seemed wrong.

I'd stick with the 4kg ones, unless you have another cat, and you can split the larger dose between them, giving the smaller cat the smaller dose. Old Metacam pipette/syringes come in useful for that.

I sneak up on MCat, gently part the fur with a fine toothed comb to show his scalp, and apply the drops. Then laff at him with his Keith Flint double mohican.

Little Monsieur's easy - due to his breed he doesn't have much hair and a very trusting nature.

I see lots of cases of fleas where there has been under dosing. If you read the data sheet under 4kg are for cats up to 3.9kg once they go over they should be in the next size.

Did MCat's first Profender today, a bit of a squabble, but nothing like the distressing nightmare of administering pills to the poor lad. And no scratches on my arms, Yay!
