Cat gone missing

It's been 24 hrs and it's so out of character. Last saw my baby about 6pm last night. He usually comes in around 9pm and is kept in over night. He never goes for more than a couple of hours and always comes when he's called. I've asked the neighbours who haven't seen him, walked round the block, no sign. I'm sick with worry. I live in a village so lots of countryside close by, but that's never tempted him away for this long. What if a fox got him last night. How will I know what's happened to him.

Is he chipped?

Lots of them do this and then stroll in when they feel like it. Keep calling and walking round.

Might someone have eg gone away for a couple if days over the weekend and locked up a garage/shed that he could have gone into to explore? Missing cats are very often shut in places by mistake for a day or two.

lbab1702 · 05/06/2016 20:34

Yes he is chipped.

He's quite timid, so I'm not sure he'd venture into a shed, but I guess he could have done. Everyone is home 3 doors up on both sides of me, but if he's gone further then he could be stuck somewhere. I'll go calling again.

Good luck.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 05/06/2016 20:42

Oh dear, what a worry. My cat stayed out on Thursday night but strolled back in at 5.30am - I aged overnight Hmm

Keeping everything crossed he comes back soon x

lbab1702 · 06/06/2016 05:01

Still no sign of him. He never stays out at night and now he's been gone two nights in a row 😟

Ok, the vets are open today so ring round and register him as lost with them plus the nearest rescue centre and his chip company.

Does your village have a Facebook spotted page? I see lost and found pets on ours.

lbab1702 · 06/06/2016 10:05

FOUND him....I've just been out leafleting and calling him and I can hear him locked in a garage.... Just need to find the owner to unlock it. He sounds distraught, but at least I know where he is Smile

Phew! Poor cat I bet he's ravenous.

cozietoesie · 06/06/2016 11:28

Well done. Is it hot where you are? (I'm thinking about liquid needs if so and you can't get him out quickly.)

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 06/06/2016 12:11

Oh poor thing!! Hope you get him out soon x

gingerboy1912 · 06/06/2016 12:17

Is he home safe and sound now op?

lavenderdoilly · 06/06/2016 12:25

If it's hot and there is no sign of the owner I would be looking at smashing a window to get the cat out or at least give it food ad water and, of course, paying to fix it. Have you spoken to garage owner neighbours ?

lbab1702 · 06/06/2016 19:31

He's home now, none the worse from the ordeal, just very thirsty and hungry and very vocal.

It's probably all your fault in his mind. One of ours got trapped for 24hrs and wouldn't come near us for days.

I'm so pleased you found him quickly.

gingerboy1912 · 06/06/2016 19:50

Ah pleased he's home what a beautiful looking boy.

lavenderdoilly · 06/06/2016 20:45
