Hi,
we are all settled in with our beautiful 14 week old kitten.
I've been reading up on nutrition and it seems a lot of cat experts recommend no dry at all due to problems with hydration and resulting kidney problems (which is irritating as my vet said how wonderful it is - so I've 2 packs of applaws in to use up). Wet food wise she has some applaws sachets, lily's kitchen and meow heads (? -can't be bothered to get up and check the name). These are all fairly expensive so I was wondering if there was a compromise or good alternative? Wainwright's looks like it's got a reasonable protein content and is grain free. I'm open to suggestions.

I feed Acana or Orijen dry food, expensive,but the best alongside cooked chicken or tuna in water. Works out cheaper as the chicken is far better and cheaper than premium cat food and i know what they are getting too.

Mine has James Wellbeloved dry for breakfast and either James Wellbeloved, Wainwrights or Natures Menu wet for dinner. He also has some dry in between.

Following advise I got on here, I feed my now 8 month old kitten on wet food only, I use food from zoo plus or happy kitty; German food very good quality. She has grown really well and looks great now.

I give mine Butchers Classic for their wet food (no cereals, which many cats are intolerant to, and can be bought from Sainsburys or Tesco.

Animonda Carny is also good, bought online from Zooplus.

Applaws for their biscuits, which I leave down and topped up all the time. 80% meat, no cereals/grains.

I give mine a mix of dry, wet and raw.
