So excited. Having had my lovely 17 year old Max pts eight weeks ago I'm having a 16 week old lodger called Winston to stay for the next two weeks while his mum's away. He's so cute and I can't wait for tomorrow. So miss those furry cuddles. 😻😻😻

What happens when Winston goes back home ?

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/05/2016 13:14

It sounds like you need a new cat!

maisiejones · 01/05/2016 14:39

Cozie - I probably cry. 😀

Fluffy - I agree but I'm waiting until after my holiday in July. This is the first time I've been 'catless' for over forty years so I can't see it lasting for long! I'm thinking of getting a couple of older rescue cats later in the year.

Look forward to hearing about those. Smile

So Winston is a 'refresher course' sort of ? Grin

maisiejones · 01/05/2016 18:11

Cozie - not so much a refresher course as a much needed 'fix'. 😀 However, it's been a long long time since I've had a kitten so no doubt I'm in for some fun and games!

Well they're not usually like mature cats, that's for sure. Grin

Good luck with him.

maisiejones · 02/05/2016 17:21

Well Winston has been here about two hours. He's learned how to 'do' stairs for the first time, has explored every corner of the house, purred loudly while being stroked and is now stretched out on my bed fast asleep. He's gorgeous.

He may only be a temporary guest but I reckon you still need to post a picture. Wink

Here you are Cozie. He's gorgeous.

Awwwww. Adorable!

Wolfiefan · 02/05/2016 22:01

Beautiful boy. If you can't get a cat could you foster for a rescue.
We were in a similar situation last summer. Lost old girl in July but with two holidays booked in August we really had to wait to get more cats.

hillyhilly · 02/05/2016 22:07

How did you come to be cat sitting? I didn't realise that you could foster cats< I'm currently losing at recuse dogs for after our July holiday but would seriously consider fostering cats in the future (once our elderly cat has passed)

maisiejones · 02/05/2016 23:24

Hilly - it's not an official foster. My friend mentioned that a work colleague of hers needed someone to look after him while she went away. I jumped at the chance as this is the first time I've been without a cat for over 40 years and I don't like it! I was anxious that he wouldn't settle but he is absolutely lovely. You'd think he had lived with me for years!

A potentially difficult 'report' when his real Mom returns then? (Fulsome but maybe not detailing quite how much he's enjoying himself. Grin)

maisiejones · 02/05/2016 23:38

Cozie - very true. I've sent a text to say not to worry as he's settled but I won't go overboard.
