Cat and dog both treated with spot on treatment from vets monthly. Cat has just spent a week in the lovely local cattery and came home at the weekend.
I've just watched a flea jump from Dd2's leg onto the bedroom floor.
What do I need to get?. Am paranoid about fleas as grew up in a pet heavy house and they were a fact of life. DP's used to douse the cats in powder if they got too infested but they were always in the house.
Cannot have fleas in my house!

If you've spot treated with advocate then they can still get a flea but it will be killed when it feeds off the cat. It's probably not an instant death.

What have you used on them?.

Hi Fluffy it's not advocate (used to be) as the vet changed it to a generic one that they reckon is as good. We apply it every month and have never had a problem but I've read this is meant to be a particularly bad year for fleas.
