Sudden lump on cat's head

Just noticed tonight a hard lump right on top of my cat's head. Its right along the centre, along the bone. Wasn't there yesterday.

Not that I'm an expert at all but I've had a tumour myself and to me this feels like it- solid, unmovable and not painful.

I'm looking after my dd and nephew tomorrow so can;t go to the vet but will make an appt for thursday.

This isn't good is it? She's had a tick bite lump before but it seems too early for ticks and the skin isn;t broken or sore.

She's 15 and I recently posted because she was pooing outside the litter tray. I've uncovered her litter tray and she does now go in it (mainly) but guessing this could be related ?

She does but not very often, I have a feeling I've had the cat flap locked the last two days because I've been out late. But she probably went out on Saturday. She's had a problem with ticks before (infection after a bite) and I normally use frontline but have been using advantage over the winter (as it covers her weight) so she's not protected against ticks at the mo. But the previous lump was quite scabby.

She seems absolutely fine. Currently running around a mad thing after a ball.

It just sounds to me - from the location and the speed with which it arose - as if it might be an abscess from a small fighting wound. You'd still be advised to vet her even if.

my goodness she's the meekest cat in the world but it's always possible that she got jumped! Her late brother was bitten badly once (he was a fighter!) and I thought he had broken his tail because he was in such chronic pain with it, and she doesn't seem to be. There's no blood and it's not red but her fur is a bit odd on top with white marks so i also wonder if she's just had a big bump somehow. That's given me a bit of hope, thanks! Will take her Thursday am and see.

In that case might try and take her along early or late tomorrow around babysitting as presumably she needs antibiotics quick.

Cat teeth and claws are filthy things so even eg a needle puncture from a wildly swiping sharp claw can have an impact at times. See what the vet says.

Mine get lumps and they are always abscesses from cat bites. Any wound marks on top of it?
