Grooming medium/long haired cat

We have a med/long haired moggy, and at the moment she is moulting horribly. She's reasonably enthusiastic about being brushed, but the metal comb we have hurts if she's got a lot of loose fur, and the brush isn't that effective.

What's the best thing to use on her? Pic for attention.

awwwww.... I persisted with comb & can do it in 30 second bursts. Also pick thru some clumps by hand. Mine is more accepting when he's sleepy, too.
