My female cat, just over a year old keeps waking me up meowing loudly early hours of the morning, 1am onwards every day! Any ideas why?? It's driving me mental. Thanks

She is hungry? Bored? Wants to play? Wants company? Wants to go out?

How are you dealing with it?

ChubbyMummy12 · 27/03/2016 14:40

She doesn't really like fusses or anything, I always make sure she has a bowl of biscuits when I go up to bed & she's out all day and comes in before I go up to bed. I have 2 DC, one is13 weeks old & the cat is waking her up. I have started taking the cat down stairs each time she comes up. But it's not very practical as I'm not getting much sleep. We have a fox that comes into the garden at night so I'm unsure if it's a good idea to let her out over night. I have no cat flap.

Mine wake me and want either fresh sachet food, (they always have biscuits but don't eat them if they want fresh stuff) or they might want to go out. Usually they want food, then will settle and sleep, now I get up rather than leave them as they don't stop, they meow or walk on me til I get up!

She's calling to make sure you are there? Is there a room where you can shut door so she doesn't come upstairs? That's what we have to do with our cat otherwise she'd come up and wake us to be fed at 3am.

Mine does this but she wants company. I pat and stroke her and she snuggles down and goes to sleep.

Iv tried shutting her down stairs before but she gets so loud. Il try giving her a pat or a little cuddle if she does it tonight and see if that sorts it out. Thank you all

Mine wakes me up to put the tap on so he can drink fresh water.

RubbishMantra · 31/03/2016 19:41

She might be freaked out by the fox in her territory?

gamerchick · 31/03/2016 19:45

Yeah what kind of meow is it? A human one or a low siren?

ChubbyMummy12 · 04/04/2016 19:15

The fox hasn't been back for a while and she's stopped so I'm assuming that's what it was,
