Expecting kittens!

Our young cat Magic got caught at Christmas time, we had been keeping her in the house while she was in season, however we have an older cat who succeeded in breaking the cat flap door!

She is now nearly due. We have visited the vet, who said although young she was in good health. He advised us to purchase a kitten feeding bottle, place a couple of cardboard boxes around in secluded places, and feed her more while she is pregnant and nursing.

We have done all this (she doesn't seem very interested in the boxes, I fear the kittens will be born on top of the box of shoes in the hall!), but I'd be grateful if anyone has any tips or advice they could share?

I will respond with cute kitten pics as soon as practical, possibly even a live birth thread if she decides to let us know (even for a cat, she's the queen of self-possession!)

Aw you're in for such a fun time! We've had four litters at home, first two were born 3 weeks of each other and we had 10 kittens running about, and I loved it!! Even if we did have a 2 week old baby.

I wouldn't worry about the boxes, more than one of ours showed no interest until D day. Try and make sure you put them somewhere private but warm. 2 of our litters were born in my wardrobe (which had sliding doors, that for some reason never got fully shut)

If you do see her in an inappropriate place, try and put a box near her and keep human traffic to a minimum.

She is still getting bigger every day, the boxes are on standby and as with your cat, currently being ignored!

Having hand reared kittens syringes are much better for feeding/topping up kittens.

Our Momo was like that, she end up having 6 bubbies! We've never had to had rear kittens, we've been very lucky, but I have also heard that a syringe is better if you do need to.
