how do I stop my cat climbing places

Cat is obsessed with perching on top of my cooker hood. I feel it's a bit unhygienic and also he may damage it.

He obviously likes being up high so I have ordered some climbing stuff on line - units you fix to a wall and a thing you put on the back of the door which I'm hoping he will climb on instead. Any other ideas?

Encourage him to go outside to fulfil his need to climb.

Indoor cat, so not a go-er, but thanks.

I don't know why that didn't work...

Google images of catification.

Yes I realise it's perfectly normal cat behaviour. However he is going to end up damaging my cooker hood!

Thanks for the tips re catification

Thanks. It's made me rethink how we do the cat stuff at home and I've found I can have more cat orientated stuff, but it ends up taking up less space (sort of) and she seems happy with it all.

If not for sits, why is it made of warm and smell of bacon.

We are about to move, our two are 7 months old. Our new cooker hood has flat bits (rather than being sloping as the current one is) so we expect this from them shortly.
