I feel so stupid TMI

So my new cat has been doing what I thought were huge clumps of poo. The clumps are huge and beige in colour, I was mystified as to how he was passing them.

Upon closer inspection, I've noticed that it may actually be pee, not poo. I'm using a clumping litter (Okoplus) and I feel like a fucking idiot now.

That also means that my cat isn't pooping. Yesterday, he did a black hard normal looking poo. Now I'm worried he has internal bleeding or something.

He is fed hilife and feline fayre wet food with water added as he won't drink any water. I've stopped feeding him drying thinking that it may help with the large stools. I don't know what I'm doing, help!

No need to feel stupid. You'll become used to many things cat over the next little while.

Pee is usually very pale so generally takes on much of the colour of the litter when it's out. Poo is much darker. Was it a decent sized poo? (Sorry to be so specific.)

PS - how old is he and how long have you had him?

Hi cozie, it looked pretty normal - like a thin sausage shape.

I've only had him a week and he's around 2 years old. He seems fine in himself and is eating normally. I feed him 2 pouches of wet a day.

I'd keep fairly cool then. Remember that if they're eating wet food, cats obtain a huge proportion of their liquid from the actual food. (Desert animal background so their innards process it out.) They're also pretty discreet about having any additional water so although they should always have some down for them, you can go weeks - even months sometimes - without actually noticing them drinking. ( Not like dogs where you're rarely in doubt about them drinking!)
