Zara is better!

I'm so happy. Also, the local Pets@Home is about to get a bumper donation of Thrive Ocean Fish for their Cats Protection bins, because apparently she's intolerant of fish now. Which she never was before. But oh well, I'm not questioning it, I'm just so happy my soulmate cat is well.

So pleased to hear she is better, xx

WinterChill · 22/01/2016 12:29

Glad she's well.

One of mine can't stand fish. He turns his nose right up and looks at you disgusted as if to say 'And what's this shit you're trying to feed me?'

cozietoesie · 22/01/2016 13:18

Excellent. Smile And glad that you identified the culprit so quickly.

FrancesNiadova · 24/01/2016 12:06

So pleased that she's better, (our girl doesn't like fish......& likes a dip in the bath!)

iloveeverykindofcat · 24/01/2016 13:00

Thank you :). She's actually had a bit more soft stool the past few days but not like it was.

The only thing I was wondering was whether some apparently meaty foods actually contain some fish protein as a base? (I genuinely don't know.)

Fingers crossed that her innards are just sorting themselves out, though, and that there's not more than one culprit.

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2016 13:35

I love the look on her face. "yes, I'm gorgeous. I woke up looking like this too".

Does she go out? Ours has soft stools but I think he steals other cats food with cereal in it.

cozietoesie · 24/01/2016 14:06

She is beautiful, though. Those ears - almost like ..... Caracal is it called? (Minus the tufts.)

Fluffycloudland77 · 24/01/2016 14:52

Her mother is an Abyssinian show cat - they're an absolutely stunning breed, and quite wild looking. She has the same eye-pattern tigers have on the backs of her ears (Her father is an opportunistic tom who worked his way in through a slightly-open window). She does go out but only in the yard - no opportunity to steal food.

cozietoesie · 24/01/2016 16:59

Ah. That explains it. Smile

iloveeverykindofcat · 24/01/2016 17:05

This was the sum of their unauthorized progeny (Zara middle back row with the wide-open eyes).

How is she doing?

iloveeverykindofcat · 27/01/2016 11:57

She's well thank you! I'm keeping her on a probiotic which she keeps divebombing behind the couch to avoid, but we get it down! Good litter tray output at the moment x

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 27/01/2016 12:30

That's promising.(The good output.) I'm a fan of probiotics for humans so pleased with what may be success with her. Could you get the ones you just add to food if she's hiding when she knows it's meds time?

Keep us up to date on progress.

cozietoesie · 27/01/2016 12:34

PS - meant to say that those kittens are wonderful. That one to her right looks like a real bruiser. Those forearms! (Got to be a boy.)

iloveeverykindofcat · 27/01/2016 17:15

I do add them to her food - she eats around them Grin. I know, such a gorgeous litter. The owners were going to breed the mother to another Aby show cat but apparently she had other plans! The ones that look more like pedigrees went first - they had ticking all over, whereas Z just has patches of it. I consider it my good fortune that they left me the best for last ;)

aaaand we're back to messy poops. sigh. Not full on diarrhea - still scoopable, if you'll excuse the phrase, but not properly formed either. I guess if this isn't a one off I'll make another concerted effort to get Zara onto raw, which is what cured Bibi. These cats, these cats...

OP posts:
cozietoesie · 01/02/2016 09:04

Oh Dear. Will she eat raw?

iloveeverykindofcat · 01/02/2016 17:23

She probably will if I let her get hungry. I'm too soft with her - she tends to get whatever she wants :S

Fluffycloudland77 · 01/02/2016 17:40

It is hard when you have a little furry face looking at you pleadingly.

iloveeverykindofcat · 02/02/2016 08:38

She also does a truly impressive, drawn-out 'whingy meow' when she wants to complain about something. It goes through you.

cozietoesie · 02/02/2016 10:34

Hah. It's designed to! Grin
