I had my lovely rescue cat PTS on Monday evening. I feel lost and can't stop crying.

I'm so sorry. They are such a huge part of our lives aren't they? Would it help to talk about your cat (only if you feel able to)?

Thinking of you Flowers

Thank you pinksparklingpussycat but I'm not able to talk about her just yet.
I just keep asking myself did I do the right thing.

I'm so sorry. It's a hard thing even when it's the right and loving decision to make.

1969model · 14/01/2016 16:26

She had been ill and on a drip for 3 days. I couldn't put her through any more, blood results showed up abnormal results for her liver and pancreas and also anaemia.

Most of the sadness will be at the sheer loss of her and not to any decision to let her go. It's difficult to distinguish between the two when you're in the middle of it though.

Thank you cozietoeise.

I am so sorry. They really are family aren't they?

1969model · 14/01/2016 20:06

Yes she was very much of our family. We have her daughter who is missing her too. I keep thinking I am going to see her sitting in her basket.

When my cat died it took me a couple of weeks to stop "seeing" her out of the corner of my eye, or hearing her meow.

MirandaWest · 14/01/2016 20:13

I'm sorry Sad.

I had my cat put to sleep a year ago and I cried a lot for about a week and kept seeing and hearing her for a while after that.

It was the right thing that you did but the pain of missing them is horrible Sad

cozietoesie · 14/01/2016 20:16

When my father died, I kept thinking (for a short while) that I would see him in his usual seat when I walked in the door to the sitting room. Part of your mind accepts the truth - only part, I think - but your heart? Not for a while, anyway.

Any loss of a personality who was close to you shakes you badly.

Take care of yourself.

Notmeagain1 · 14/01/2016 20:23

So sorry for the loss of your little one. You did the right thing to end her suffering. Take care of yourself, it does get easier one day at a time. 💐😽

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 14/01/2016 20:30

Yes you did the right thing I'm sure, if there was only pain ahead of her. I hope having her daughter brings some comfort to you.

Wolfiefan · 14/01/2016 20:32

I'm so sorry. It's so hard. But she was very ill. You didn't want her to suffer. It's the last and greatest act of love you can do.
So sorry for your loss.

So sorry for your loss. From what you say, I'm sure you did the right thing for her. It's so hard, though Flowers
