My dear little 7 month old cat went out at 5am and hasn't come home yet Sad
I'm so worried, she has never stayed out this long, are rarely goes out of the garden.
I have an older cat (11years) too and he's been asleep all day but I've just sent him out to find her with the promise of dreamies Hmm
I know it's daft but I'm so worried about her. She's only tiny and it's so cold out Sad

It doesn't get a whole load easier with age, either. Sad

Is there any outside work you might usefully do - winter garden tidying etc? That sometimes helps.

Fingers crossed for her.

LavenderRain · 12/01/2016 15:37

Thanks cozie
Our old boy cat went missing when he was a year old, he's 11 now,
He was gone for 9 days,
They always hang around together but today old boy was alone, it's 11 hours now, I'm so worried, I keep going out and calling her like a madwoman!

What a cute face she has! Any signs of her yet? Have you been out shaking food or tapping tins while calling her? How about asking the neighbours if you could check their gardens? Hope she's home soon.

TheSpottedZebra · 12/01/2016 17:18

Is she back yet?
She's def not snuck back into the house, and is tucked up happily in a box or a bed somewhere?

LavenderRain · 12/01/2016 17:49

No sign yet. 13 hours now Sad
She's defo not indoors.
I keep walking round the garden calling her.
There's a horrible man over the back who has been know to chase cats off. I hope she didn't upset him.

She's lovely. I hope you find her soon. 7 months seems to be a common age at which cats go wandering - mine did the same at 7 months & was missing for 3 days. We went out after dark shaking a food tubtub, as it was easier to listen for him without the daytime background noise. Halso did just about everything else in an effort to find him but in the end he turned up by himself out of the blue, as cats do. Fingers & paws crossed and keep us posted.

Thanks everyone x

She's been neutered and had all her shots I assume? (Sorry if you said but I couldn't see it up above.)

LavenderRain · 12/01/2016 18:05

Yep neutered. Microchip and vaccinations up to date

Well done.

Pipestheghost · 12/01/2016 18:05

I'm keeping everything crossed for her return. One of mine was gone for a few days at the same age, and returned safely.

LavenderRain · 12/01/2016 18:08

I'm at work for 13 hours tomorrow so hopefully she will make an appearance tonight. It's so cold out

What a little sweetie - hope she's back soon. Do you have a local Facebook group you can post in so people know to check their sheds etc? It's quite a bit colder than it has been so she could have found herself a cosy spot and got locked in.

Pipistrella · 12/01/2016 19:11

Oh she is so sweet - what a gorgeous girlie.

I am very very sorry you are going through this, it is heartbreaking to think of them alone out there. I have been known to go out in the dark to give the rabbit hutch an extra blanket so I know how you feel Sad

If it is any comfort, cats are particularly great at finding warm places to hide. So she will be cosying up somewhere, with any luck. Maybe even in someone else's house or shed. And they are desert animals (or so I am told) so they can manage very cold weather, even though it's not comfortable for them.

Keeping everything crossed for you that she just wandered off on a hunt and is on her way home now xxx

Pipistrella · 12/01/2016 19:11

Oh crossed posts! I had this open for a while before I posted.

LavenderRain · 12/01/2016 19:37

Thankyou, still waiting and hoping

Oh she's gorgeous. My shifty lad got out and went missing for two days once, we'd only had him 3 weeks. Don't worry too much (Druid comment). Flowers

ophiotaurus · 12/01/2016 19:40

Oh no hope she comes back Sad

timtam23 · 12/01/2016 21:28

Posting on local Facebook and also Twitter is a good idea, neighbours kindly did this for my missing cat. We also asked the postman & milkman to keep an eye out. Fingers still crossed for her return tonight.

LavenderRain · 12/01/2016 22:40

Thanks timtam still no sign of her Sad
Reluctantly off to bed now, work tomorrow. Hate to think of her out there.
old cat has gone to bed alone. He's sat on a chair staring out the windows. He knows she's missing Sad

thinking of you and knowing how this feels. so sorry to hear she's not back indoors yet Sad

really hope she's back indoors by the morning. I would ask neighbours to check in their sheds and any outdoor tool cupboards too. Often if a door is left open cat being so curious will investigate or follow rustling of mice etc and then get shut in and noone will know! this happened to one of my girls and only after asking neighbours to check their outbuildings did she return at top speed thin as a rake!

keeping hopeful

MrsCocoa · 12/01/2016 23:27

Thinking of you Lavender. Our little cat went missing last week - we found her quite close to home in a place we'd previously checked - turned out she'd been in a fight with a larger animal and was a bit disoriented. She's fine now. Enlist as much local help as you can - joggers and school kids too!

LavenderRain · 13/01/2016 00:17

She's home! As of 10 mins ago.
DD was out calling her in the next street and she appeared at the back door.
She's hungry but otherwise fine. Grin
Thanks for everyones concern. I can sleep now!
