profender/smelly cat.....

my previous cat used to have an 'under smell' which whilst wasn't very nice, i would ignore it and just assumed it was a 'cat thing' being animals. However, my current cat has started to have the same smell which had occurred to me may be as a result of her having profender put on her once every three months. the stuff STINKS when you first put it on. The smell is very similar to what my cat smells like (although fortunately, a milder version). we don't bath her. Possibly it sticks to the fur for months on end until i administer the next three month dose or, it is in her system so comes out through her skin???? She never used to have this smell but then it occurred to me, initially she was on pill form for worming. She doesn't take too kindly to pills hense the easier to administer profender. Just wondered if anyone else had noticed this with their cat?

Never smelled it myself. Do you have an exceptionally keen sense of smell for other things?

I use profender on my two and I can't say I've ever noticed a smell from it even when I've just put it on. Maybe you have a super nose?

I didn't think i had a particularly strong sense of smell, surprised you haven't noticed the smell when you first put it on. perhaps i do!?

All spot ons have a smell, but they are different. Not everyone can smell all of them, I personally can't bear the smell of the Prac-tic spot on.

You might just be particularly sensitive to the smell of that potion then? It could probably make sense if there was a continuing odour given that it goes into the system and lingers for the necessary time to do its work. Interesting - I wonder if cats smell it also?
