cables and wires

Our seven year old boy seems to be getting worse and worse. He's gone through a computer charger, phone charger and set of Christmas lights in the last couple of weeks and we have had to ban him from various rooms. He's always been a bit naughty with wires but this is going from bad to worse. I'm surprised he's never hurt himself.

Does anyone have any solutions to this. My best is to rub wires with washing up liquid but of course one forgets and it doesn't seem to be lasting.

This is quite unusual for cats, but de rigour for house rabbits. You can get sleeves for cables from hardware shops that should protect them.

Thank you "cat neuterer". I'll do that; I didn't know. We do luff him very much. He's more dog-like than rabbit like as a rule.

Our current foster cat loves cables and wires, but we've found that she actually just likes to carry cable like materials round in her mouth. So we give her lots of toys with tassel like parts, bits of string, dressing gown ties(!) etc. Since we flooded her environment with other things she is less interested in the wires.
