Dry patch of skin

My fellow feline chums!

I've just noticed that Watson has a quite a large patch of flaky dry skin (raised, like psoriasis) on the base of his tail - it's nowhere else on his body. No skin issues in the past.

He has hyperestesia, tests show no underlying cause. Just a phantom twitch in his back end that he'll lick at (but not bite or scratch).

He let me check out the skin patch without annoyance, there's no obvious wound or pain. He's an indoor cat.

Any ideas? I'll call the vet on Monday, but would appreciate any tips in the meantime!

Thanks Smile

Nope, not had that one yet. Interested to find out what it is though.

Me too, Fluffy. I'm suspecting it's related to his hyperstesia, but hopefully not self inflicted. I haven't spotted him biting or scratching.

Hoping it's nothing a medicated shampoo bath WILL cure. I wouldn't fancy my chances against 6kg of claw Confused
