Am I too precious about my cat?

She has a curfew, a heated cat bed, is allowed anywhere in the house, I get a bit twitchy about her leaving our back garden and don't allow her out much in winter. Also she is absolutely not allowed out the front much because of the road and I will fetch her in if I find her out there.

My DP thinks I've made her a bit neurotic and that I'm too protective. She doesn't seem bothered by her restrictions but that's because she knows the rules I think

This is a normal way to be with a cat though, right?

Cats are precious fur babies who must be protected at all costs. Nothing is too much or too ridiculous when it comes to their safety, wellbeing and comfort

Yes see. I'm right. DP once told me to look at all the neighbourhood cats just meandering around outside on the road. Then look at my cat who I'd just fetched in from the back garden because it was a bit windy

He seems a bit over interested in all of this. Is he sure it's not him who's precious.

I think he was feeling the burn from the "two week shun" period that my cat does. She ignores him completely for two weeks then ignores me. I think she likes to keep us on our toes.

Dkitten is not allowed out anywhere near dark. He only goes out if I'm in, I won't leave him out when I'm at work. He sleeps on me and I adore him.

We had our old cat pts earlier this year and I can't bear to have the same heartache again, so I'll continue to be careful with him, regardless of what DH says.

She knows because if she doesn't come in, I go get her. Tbh, she is never far but she knows now not to bother asking to go out after 9pm.

No, you sound like me . Mine only goes out when I'm at home. I don't like her going out in the rain and after dark. She sleeps on my bed of a night.
