Cheaper alternative to Thrive? (Plus cat video for thread bait)

I've been trying to find a quality wet food Zara will eat, and I've found it with Thrive. The problem is the cost - at almost a pound per serving, I can't afford this for her everyday food, just as a treat. She likes wet food in sauces or broths - hence Thrive is accepted - and will happily eat any supermarket rubbish of that texture. She does not like pate or jelly. Any suggestions for a quality food that will meet her standards and not break the bank?

Bibi eats raw. She has to, =it's the only thing that keeps her colitis in check. I would "love* Z to eat raw but she regards it with complete disgust - it's probably my fault, when she was a kitten I fed her Whiskas because I didn't know any better. I just found some trial packs of Thrive which are slightly cheaper so bought them, but when they run out I'll take a look at that Butcher's.

Have you considered poached chicken or fish with the proper supplements? We feed ours raw with Felini complete and that can be used with cooked meats too.

Oh that's a good idea! I didn't know about Felini complete but have looked it up on Google - looks promising! Do you mind me asking - how old are your cats? I'm assuming they do well on this diet?

One of them is a year old and went from the smallest in his litter to the biggest (he also gets some Applaws biscuits). The other is 17 and has managed to put on weight despite having kidney disease which is pretty impressive since cats with kidney disease normally slowly starve to death. I give them some extra B vitamins (cats with kidney disease normally need extra) and salmon oil.

They are lucky kits to have you as their human :)

Bibi has the most fab shiny fur, I wonder if that's because of the expensive diet.

I buy Bozita from Zooplus, supposed to be quality. Must admit I'm a horrible cat-mommy & don't put down alternatives until they eat what they're offered. Not had a cat starve self yet.

YeOlde It's very satisfying to see Bibi sleek and shiny - I got her from a shelter and she was very malnourished, had just had kittens even though she was a kitten herself, and had every virus going. Thanks for that tip about the zooplus discount potap - that's quite a saving!

Have a look at www.bitiba.co.uk too. It's actually the same company as Zooplus but is quite a bit cheaper. It doesn't have the range that zooplus has and you need to spend £39 to get free Yodel delivery but those are about the only differences.

No idea about the food but Bibi does indeed have fabulous fur. Is she the one who pretended to be meek until you got her home?.
