Best cat flap - advice please!

Hi does anyone have any advice on the best cat flap to buy to keep out other cats. I currently have just a normal 4way but we've had a regular intruder and our cat is going nuts! I see that there are magnetic, microchip and infrared types? Does anyone have any experience good or bad with these?

Yes the microchip ones are great. Sureflap seems good.

I think many posters here use the microchip Sureflap and it certainly seems to be worth the money - but be sure to shop around. You can take a tenner off the cost if you shop wisely for it.

I would highly recommend the Sureflap one.

Our cat is in & out all day, leaving NDN's cat sitting mooching for food on the doormat.

I have a Sureflap. I will confess that I have had a couple of problems with it but both times I have contacted them and they have sent a replacement without any quibble or question.

Sureflap Microchip here too. BakeOffCat comes and goes all day long safe in the knowledge that his arch rival from two doors down the road can't get in and steal his food!

Another vote for Sureflap microchip. They're like magic.

Microchip all the way! I have a Pet Porte Smart Flap. Their customer service is also great - our one broke and they sent us out a replacement no problem. Think it comes with a two year guarantee

We have had numerous Pet Porte Smart Flaps but if you have small children beware they love playing with them and damage the connection we've had a one ripped out by DC's friends. It gets expensive.
