At present Smackhead cat has moved to his winter night and day perch of the attic stairs. This means he is three steps away from bathroom. He Intermittently shits on the bathmat. Three times this morning. (First two like rock so disposed of. )Fresh mat out and hung over side of bath. I have a lie in of half an hour and he's done it again, this time mat has to be chucked out. If I shut the bathroom door he cries at all the bedroom doors then shits in the hall. Angry
He's about 10, was a farm kitten, never liked litter tray much. This doesn't happen all the time, he goes through phases. Apart from this he is very laid back, if needy to sit on us at night and terminally greedy. (Wormed) He's driving me crazy!

Sprinkle it with pepper!

How about substituting bathmats for puppy training pads for a while? ABout the same size, absorbent and throw awayable!

Obie occasionally decorates our bath mat too. Think he's too lazy to go downstairs to his tray and figures that as we poo in that room why shouldn't he...!

We had this problem too, it was awful. Solved it when we moved house and the dog decided the bathroom was her new bed. No helpful advice for you in afraid, but you have my sympathy for what it's worth

Medusa, I don't want him to think it's ok to poo there. However
