How do you know if your cat is a fat cat?

Just been for his boosters and health check.

He's 1 and 4.8kg.

When weight the vet said "well he's definitely bigger than the average cat"

At the time I just thought bigger as in dimensions but now I'm wondering if he's a fatty bum bum.

The vet would have said wouldn't she?

He doesn't look it, and has that slender cat shape. Backbone feel-able when stroked.

SoupDragon Unlikely, they were housecats until they came to me in July. She's the adventurous explorer, he doesn't go far and we don't have close neighbours that would feed him. She hunts, he will catch a butterfly.

Butterflies are very high in fat... Wink

One of mine is huge, we call him fatboy, but he really doesn't eat any more than the others, he's just a big cat, and also long haired which makes him look bigger.
It's funny, as I hAve his Mum and sister, he was born here and is now so much bigger than both.

Mr C is 6 kg at the mo and not at all fat. The vet said thoughtfully, nursing a bandaged wrist after the weigh-in, 'They do get big'.

He's a moggy.
