I have just discovered that the tap root from beetroot looks exactly like a rats tail, complete with 'bloody' stump where I cut it off.
One of my cats looked it with disdain, like 'there's no way that's a rat tail, what do you think I am, stupid?'
Gratifyingly, the other one is actually stupid, and spent and entertaining 15 minutes flipping it around in the air.
