I have a three year desexed oriental cross (Dorcas is her name).
She has been doing this odd scenting thing for a while now. It smells like old fishy fertiliser. Any ideas why or what?

What is she actually doing, Grin - spraying or something? (I wasn't too sure.)

I'm not exactly sure myself. It's more of a liquid that oozes out of her....something (not sure if bum or fanjo). I didn't think cats scented/sprayed after being desexed.

They can still spray - as can neutered toms - although they usually don't. You talked about 'oozing' though, rather than a spray and that would make me want to vet her, I think (and to try to establish where it's coming from before the consultation.)

We have pugs and it's very similar in smell and consistency to their anal gland secretions. Now Dorcas has taken on a lot of pug like characteristics but whynthis one!?

Marking?
I noticed my youngest female cat 'marking' when I put an old piece of furniture to go to the dump recently.
