I have tried purring and playing. Also did everything else to get her to bed. I have food and water and a lovely comfy bed that's calling missy come to me.

However she has the TV on also the lights.

How can I get her to go to bed.

Bailey (like his predecessor) has completely snubbed the comfy cat bed.

On his first night home, he was shy and took a while to come out. I just sat on the sofa once everyone else had gone to bed, with a fluffy throw on the sofa. Eventually he made his way over, jumped up and settled down, purring. When he was happily asleep, I left him there and went to bed myself.

We did this for the first few nights while he was settling in and he was fine with it.

Now, he has the full run of the house. He prefers to sleep on DD1's bed in the afternoon and play with her in the early evening. Then he likes to have a mad hour or so. Then he goes and settles down at the foot of DD2's bed for the night. DD1 shuts her bedroom door as he will play with her feet and she doesn't like it while she's trying to sleep.

Unlike our old cat, who used to leap on your face to wake you up and demand to be fed, Bailey waits until we all get up and is lower maintenance.

IF DD2 is away on a sleepover then Bailey will deign to sleep on the foot of our bed instead.
