Kittens weeing on beds

So I have four kittens. All lovely but they are weeing on beds. I don't know why. Their litter tray is changed every other day and the poop scooped out every day.

They are also weeing on my door mat and pooping in the bathroom. Not all of them judging by the quantity but at least one of them.

They are happy, affectionate, bouncing around 13 week old girls.

What's going wrong?

Is the litter tray near their food?

No. It's in a separate room.

I did keep them in one room for two weeks as advised by the cat charity I got them from. They were going bonkers though and kept pawing at the door.

They're not allowed yet because they're getting spayed next week.

So, it's early days and I should keep an eye out.

You need 5 trays really, if they are fussy you'll need to clean clumps out as they happen same as poos.

Ultra clumping litter is good for kittens, the smaller granules are gentle on paws that haven't been outside and toughened up.

sorry but the simple answer to kittens weeing on beds is keep them out of the bedrooms these are young enough to be trained not to come into your bedrooms , let them run round during the day with plenty of strageically placed litter trays and then confine them overnight when you go to bed in one room with bedding litter trays and biscuits/ water

Eeeek. 5 trays! Where will I put them all? Next to each other in a neat row?

Annoyingly they have to be spaced out around the home.

You need to keep them out of your bedroom. The majority of kittens I've had loved weeing on the bed and anywhere soft.

You need multiple trays - the ideal is one per cat, plus one extra, and not next to each other/in the same room unless you really have no choice. Poop needs to be scooped out regularly, but you shouldn't have to change the entire litter daily. We do ours once a week (totally fresh litter, trays washed/bleached) with top-ups in-between. No smells so far, and ours are coming upto three.

One does pee in the bath though!

They are confined at night to their rooms with the litter tray. More trays arriving tomorrow.

So when they are fully grown can they go into bedrooms?

I don't see why they need to stay out of bedrooms once the litter tray situation is sorted, tbh. Ours have been allowed in our room since we got them at 12 weeks and we've never had any accidents.

Give them a week or so with the new trays, and if they don't have accidents I don't see why they can't come into your room if you want them to.

they are georgous kittens personally i dont let any of mine in the bedroom because theres four of them i like the room in my own bed and four lots of fur moulting all over the bedding is yuk to me some people let their cats in their rooms some dont

Four can team up to destroy any plans you have. Just go with the flow.
