Well that was stressful - moving home

Oh Lordy. Moved to new, long awaited home couple of weeks ago from rented, but the move went a bit proverbial (think moving in around a decorator still painting!) so decided to leave my three kits at the old place for the day as they would be nice and safe.

Oh dear. When I went back to get them they were beside themselves and then terrified when we got to new home. The boys did the whole tail down slinking close to the floor thing all bug eyed. But poor girl cat just hissed at everything - particularly the kitchen cupboards. They were particularly offensive! But then she decided after 3 years, she could no longer tolerate Maine coon boy at all - hissing, growling the lot. Poor little chap, quite scared by the move then gets attacked by his friend. You know, the one he curls up with?

I had no internet, so couldn't even come here for advice. Luckily, after 3 days all returned to normal and now I can say they absolutely love their new home, so many spots for sunbathing and stairs to launch themselves up and down. Going to fence the garden with cat proof fencing then they can go out - little black cat has zero road sense and so anti-squishing plans have been made.

I'm not sure I've recovered yet though!!!

Sounds stressful, glad to hear all are settled in happily now.

Many years ago when we moved, my dear girl was so scared in our new house she wormed her way through a small hole in the floor boards. It took us nearly 3 days to find her and then persuade her to come out. I was so upset I couldn't focus on unpacking and enjoying our lovely new house.
