Help me name the new addition!

Rescued a small black kitten who was in a bad way, we guess around 6 - 8 weeks. Gammy eyes, weak and dehydrated. Found her as I walked back from my car to my house curled up by the side of a building. Asked around the local area/rscpa/local animal shelters if she was anyone's apparently not so we've taken her in, before the "you've stolen someones cat" bashing begins, I was responsible enough to check if anyone may be missing the darling as I'd hate to be missing my kitten and someone find it.

Anyway, she's been cleaned up as best I can for now until I can get her to the vets. So, we need a name! Any suggestions welcome

I dont think anyone here is going to say a 6 week kitten should be out on it's own.

Georgie. It can be shortened to George in case it's not a girl.

Unlike our relatives who now call their cat Mr Dotty instead of Dotty.

CrimsonSunrise · 15/08/2015 22:18

Sorry if I seem a tad defensive, just seen a few people shredded for rescuing cats, granted not everyone does check but I had to put it across I checked if she was owned.

Lucky! Grin

cozietoesie · 16/08/2015 00:01

I read your last sentence as 'Amy suggestions welcome.' (Grin - it's been a long day) so I'll have to keep on with that.

Notmeagain1 · 16/08/2015 01:39

Licorice
Sage
Shadow
Darling
Ransom
and of course Lucky (you found her)

Too late, can't think of anything else at the moment.

She sure is a beauty and will be forever greatful you found her, I can hear her purring no. Good job. ????

Yy to a name that works for boys too (just in case!). I like notmeagain's suggestions, shadow.

QueenFuri · 16/08/2015 09:46

Shadow, Sooty, Lucky.

fenneltea · 16/08/2015 11:55

Ebony.

sashh · 16/08/2015 12:33

Snowflake.

Mine started as 'Mystery cat' and ended up as 'Misty'

Shwartze, Nero, any other word for black.

Sooty, Lucky etc

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 16/08/2015 13:04

How cute!
Puddle
Misty
Coal ( variation of Cole as kitty is black )
Noir

playftseforme · 16/08/2015 13:07

Midnight

timtam23 · 16/08/2015 13:13

She is lovely. How about a word that means "cat" in another language? Unfortunately most of them are very similar to "cat" but a friend of mine did call her cat Katze ("catsa" - German). And there is always Mao (Chinese) or Neko (Japanese)

rembrandtsrockchick · 16/08/2015 13:15

Puddle is a brilliant name!

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 16/08/2015 13:17

Ooh, I love puddle!

Notasinglefuckwasgiven · 16/08/2015 13:18

I want a cat Envy

storytopper · 16/08/2015 13:53

Raven

CrimsonSunrise · 16/08/2015 15:08

These suggestions are fab! She's eating well, got a loud voice and is a cuddle bug. All I've had off my brother and parents are things like Peanut Butter, Velcro and Moo Hmm
Am hoping a name jumps as soon as I see it! Keep up the suggestions!!

I've just looked in my food cupboard for inspiration

Coco
Marmite
Treacle
Branston (or Pickle)
(Black) Pepper
Or as it is coming into harvest season how about Damson (most of them are a nearly-black purple)

FernGullysWoollyPully · 16/08/2015 16:10

Guinness
Pepsi
Salem
Pumpkin
Gizmo
Hubble (Bubble)
Phantom
Badger
Chalky (as in the opposite of black)
Mouse
Jet
Panther
Ace (of spades)

RainbowFlutterby · 16/08/2015 16:14

Another vote for Puddle!!! That's a fantastic name for a cat.
