I'm moving house today and have been lucky enough to find a new rental which will accept my cat. I was originally going to take her with me today until I found out that I will need to be away for the night on Tuesday (due to a funeral). Ordinarily, if it's just for one night, I leave a lot of dry food and water for her (as well as a helping of wet food) and apart from being sniffy with me for a day or two afterwards
she's fine.
However, I'm nervous about doing this this time as obviously it will be a new house for her and it will still be during the 'lock-in' period of time.
I am lucky enough to be in the position where I don't have to vacate my old property just yet so my second thought was to leave her here until Wednesday evening and ask my lovely neighbour to feed her until then. The problem is that my cat is already nervous having seen all the boxes and movement going on lately and has become clingy. I'm worried if I leave her and with most of the furniture gone she will think I've abandoned her.
Unfortunately whilst my neighbour is lovely she isn't a cat person so would not be up for giving the cat plenty of love, affection and reassurance whilst I'm gone. Apparently, when I went on holiday recently she said my cat was 'pining' for me
I just don't know which of the two options would be better for her.
Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions?
