Cat flap fitting

I know this has probably been asked a million times before so apolegies!

What's the best way of fitting a cat flap into a uPVC door panel. Do I call a window fitter? Can I just order a panel online with a hole cut in it?

Many thanks in advance to wise kitty ownersGrin

I had one fitted a couple of weeks ago, by a handyman who did a few other jobs for me at the same time. It turned out our uPVC door actually had two plates of steel in it, with a layer of insulation inbetween. I had just assumed it was a panel of white plastic! I felt justified in having paid someone to do it as I'd never have been able to cut through all that myself. The man said you can't tell what the door is made of until you drill or cut into it.
A window fitter may also be able to help, but generally I think it's a case of cutting the existing door, it's only if it's glass that you need a new panel with a pre-cut hole.

Thank you! I'm heading out to find a handyman then! Smile
