Help me name my kitten?

In a couple of weeks time, I will be bringing home this beautiful little lady. She will be about 9 weeks when I am able to collect her from our local rescue.

She's gorgeous, and I am very excited to be getting my first ever kitten. Please help me name her?

I think I like 'human' names, rather than 'animal' names, and have been considering things like Luna, Jemima, Cleo, Martha, Darcy, Scout, Otillie (basically names that I know DP would veto for any future children!)

Any opinions or other suggestions?

PrettyPirate · 23/06/2015 20:21

She's gorgeous!!!
My favourite girl cat name is Matilda.

I also love Prunella and Beastie but my kids strongly vetoed theseHmm

Corygal · 23/06/2015 20:21

Elodie. Also sounds nice when shrieked across a garden.

PrettyPirate · 23/06/2015 20:22

Love Jemima and Martha too!

Mamabird3 · 23/06/2015 20:26

When I was a child we had a cat who looked just like this called Tabitha. She's beautiful!

ShatnersBassoon · 23/06/2015 20:29

Joni. She's so cute Smile

Enid aka the cbeebies programme duggee.

I bought our 2 new kittens home on Saturday and stupidly allowed my 4 year old to name them, radish and cooper!! I wanted Enid and betty :)

BettyCatKitten · 23/06/2015 20:44

Tabitha seems very appropriate Smile she's so cute!

RubbishMantra · 23/06/2015 20:46

Mabel, Audrey or Delphine.

SleepyEmu · 23/06/2015 20:48

Thank you for all the suggestions so far Smile

PrettyPirate Matilda would probably have been my first choice to be honest...but I used that for a much loved hamster when I was about six!

Tabitha is also lovely, but was the name of my best friends childhood cat, who looked very similar to this little girl.

Radish and Cooper has really made me Grin I feel like Cooper got the better end of the deal!
Did your child look on the driveway and in the fridge for inspiration? Wink

My daughter votes for Luna.

What a gorgeous kitten; we are all jealous.

whyhasmyheadgonenumb · 23/06/2015 20:54

Cooper was supposed to be cucumber but it takes her a few attempts to say that properly so we all agreed cooper was an easier compromise :)
Cucumber and radish are her favourite foods, strange child Grin

SleepyEmu · 23/06/2015 20:54

Love Mabel RubbishMantra
And would suit the very distinct 'M' marking on her forehead!

Oh bless her. Cucumber and Radish Smile Your neighbours are going to think you're nuts when you're calling them in! Love it.

Ohhh loooook, kittens!!

Very jealous you've got two! I've had to do a lot of convincing even to be allowed one. And yes, I have tried to explain that two is actually less work as they keep each other company, but it falls on stony deaf ears Sad

I want a house full of fluffy cute kittens!

They are inseparable! I only intended on getting one but the person supposed to pick the other one up didn't turn up and I couldn't leave it, they were both sleeping and cuddled up so closely. They are currently playing with tin foil, chasing each other round like lunatics :)

2 is less work but twice as expensive, their injections are next week!

sashh · 24/06/2015 06:35

You know cats can have middle names so you don't just have to pick one.

I've had a Claudia and an Martha (she was white, named after Arthur the white cat in t he food ad).

Foster cats have often left with extended names, Violet became 'Violet Elizabeth de Fuzzybum, guardian of the scarves'.

You could write your favorites on paper, roll the paper in to balls and see which one she plays with.

I think she looks like an Alexandra.

rembrandtsrockchick · 24/06/2015 07:20

Hmmm...looks like a Lilo Lil to me...something about the innocent but potentially tarty facial expression. I reckon this one will be a handful.
