Burmese eye discharge

I know it's a common problem with Burmese to have leaky eyes, but is there anything that can be done.
How do you clean the eyes of your Burmese and how often?
Our old boy and always had leaky eyes but they seem worse in the past week or so. He has a vet check up shortly so wondered if there was anything I could ask for there.
Many thanks.

I would just use some tepid saltwater. Assuming they aren't infected.

my Siamese has appalling hayfever so this time of year is the worst for him.

his eyes are always full of big snotty boogers. nothing to be done but wipe them.

My moggies get eye discharge. Vet said it's just one of those things and there's nothing to be done except wipe them regularly!

Just wipe them with some damp cotton wool. Remember to use a separate piece for each eye just in case there is any infection.

One ofmy burmese has always had leaky eyes- his brother not. I just use a cotton pad in water twice a day. I guess if they're getting worse I'd show the vet.
