cat bag or cat box?

Need to invest in a something to take the furry babies to the vets and back, so do you recommend a carry bag or a plastic box?
Are there any that are suitable for both cats? Theyre only kittens at the moment, so they both went into my friends box okay together, but I'd imagine that standard boxes would be too small to do this in the future?

You can get quite large cat boxes, if you check online. Try zoo plus. I use the cat boxes as can beds then it means I'm not chasing reluctant cats around the house to put them, kicking, biting and hissing, into the box. People make the mistake if putting the box away and wondering why the cat doesn't want to go into the thing they associate with the vets.

The bag type carriers look lovely when new but they are a lot harder to clean if the cats soil themselves on the journey and also I have found that the zip are often not escape proof!
The plastic cat carriers are much easier to clean and also to remove a reluctant cat from, especially as most of them have a removable top half.
You can get large ones for two cats or two smaller ones so they can have one each. If they're not going to grow into particularly big cats they could share a standard size one.

I know what you mean, tooooo tempting. I was on Pinterest earlier, thinking oh I could make that dog house, cat bed, etc. All I have to do is get off Mumsnet and start the projects not bloody likely

Box! The bags aren't escape proof and are certainly harder to clean. Don't buy a box with a plastic door though, make sure it's a metal one.

I have a zipped bag with a fleece in the bedroom for use with Seniorboy in the event of fire and having to defenestrate or something. Otherwise, I have a large airline-standard carrier with a solid bottom (and a big fluffy towel) for going to the vet etc. It's easily cleanable and makes life a lot calmer in the event of car or taxi journeys.
