Noisy cat

This morning I took my two cats to the vet for their annual jabs. Boy cat cried the whole way there. Girl cat cried the last two minutes. He was very very very happy to be returned home (rescue cat after being abandoned) and I gave him a treat stick. He went out for a bit and has just come in crying loads. I looked for a present, he thought I was going to feed him, he jumped up for a stroke or ten and then jumped off and cried some more. Has wandered off now. I've no idea what he is trying to say to me.

Any advice?

Just go about your business as normal - although it would be fine if that normality included a good dose of TLC. It sounds as if he feared he was going to be abandoned again and is trying to establish what's happening. Things being just the same this afternoon and evening should reassure him with any luck.

He's been back, yowled at me and then go off somewhere. I want to stay with him but pesky ds needs picking up . Girlcat is normal,self.

My heart cracks for you and boy cat. But it will be ok. Mr Cory was homeless when I got him and he was absolutely petrified of leaving the flat, even with me, evidently thinking the same thing re abandonment.

Cozie told me to act normal once he'd got back, which (apart from smothering him with kisses in delight at his return) worked brilliantly - he was watching me very carefully at first and settled down when I did. Have a good cuddle in bed tonight and make an extra fuss of him for a few days. If he wants attention, give it to him.

Mr C is fine now and doesn't like the vet much, but he's no longer traumatised. Good luck, it gets better.

I'm a bit in love with Mr. Cory. And on some level want SeniorBoy to be my dad.

I haven't seen him this morning but ds has. He seemed a bit better by bed time but not quite 100%. They go to the vet once a year and he's traumatised every time .

I'd just keep on going because he likely has some history to come to terms with. If it's any consolation, Seniorboy used to hate the vet with a passion but now that he has to go more often, he's OK with it - because he comes home again and things are just the same. The pity (although it's a good thing) with your lad is that his visits are too infrequent to learn that lesson quickly.

He should be fine - just give him a little longer.

I think it's more about leaving the house and not knowing what is happening than the vet tbh as he cries the minute we leave. Some lovely person abandoned him and his sister. Someone needs to leave them alone with. I food or water . They were found and then spent a few weeks in the rescue place. They hid from everyone and we were the first couple they came out for .

Very angry today with DS who mowed the lawn which scared him as he was in the trampoline and couldn't work out where the exit was. I'm so cross still. Poor cat.

Go to your bedroom and watch a movie with him on some device or other. That's my cure-all for cats and it usually works!

He's just appeared. It's nearly supper time . Seems okay.
