Letting kitten out for the first time...

How do you do it? I'm thinking to let her in the back garden for a short time while we are in there watching her a few times and then gradually build up the time?
Am just worried that the first time she goes out of my sight she will get lost and not know how to get back home... How do you prevent that??

Do it when she's hungry. Is she neutered?

Yes and chipped

Fab. Then just let her out. Make sure you leave the door open so she can get back in. I don't think she'll go very far the first few times. They're pretty smart. I'm lucky with my two English boys - they've moved house 4 times in 7 years and I let them out after one day. They seem to know what they're doing. Walk with her. Call her back with a familiar sound - do her food dishes make a certain sound?

Yes she has dry food as well as pouches and that rattles in the bowl so will remember that!
Will nervously give her a taste of freedom this weekend I think!!

Their quite cautious the first few times.

Yes, they are. If they get spooked and run back into the house, you've pretty much cracked it - they know where to go. Good luck!
