Cattery and vaccination certificates question

Just a couple of questions. I went on holiday a few weeks ago and we left our lovely cat in a really nice cattery. They said he would need his vaccination certificates to access the outdoor area, but he was an indoor cat at the time so it didn't seem a problem.

We were away for five nights and although he was settled in the cattery, he was a bit unsettled when he came home and took a few days to seem better.

Anyways, my fiancé is going away for the bank holiday weekend with his son and has asked me to join them which is would love to do.

It would mean leaving him the cattery again which I'm a bit nervous about. Will he be ok so soon after?

Also, he's recently started going outside for a little mooch around the garden Smile. We don't have his vaccination certificates and his previous owner has misplaced them.

How do we get them back? Do we just call any vet? I have no idea, and I can't find then answer on google.

Thanks Smile

Sorry, I typed this really fast as I'm in a bit of a rush, not sure if it makes sense.

We've recently been letting our cat out to mooch around the garden which he loves, so when he goes to the cattery againI was hoping to have his vaccination certificates so that he can go outside Smile

How long have you had him? He would be due a booster vaccination annually, so if it's more than a year then his vaccinations are out of date anyway.
Vets can re-issue a vaccine card from old records but if his boosters aren't up to date then they'd be meaningless anyway.

We've only had him for four months, and he was only one year 8 months old when we got him, but I have no idea when he last had them. I don't even know which vet he was registered with (his previous owner was very unwell, so we don't really have any of this information).

Can we just get them done again, or can that make them unwell?

If the information isn't available then yes I'd restart them. I wouldn't want my cat to be unprotected, even as an indoor cat. It's 2 injections given 3 weeks apart. We revaccinate rescue cats all the time with unknown histories.

If you don't know anything solid about his vet history, I'd get him down to your local vet now for a checkup, start-again vaccinations and worming/fleaing etc. If his previous owner was unwell, it's entirely possible that his annual booster was overlooked and you don't need him becoming ill, indoor cat or no.

I take it he's been neutered and chipped?
