Litter tray

Can anyone recommend a good closed litter tray?

I was thinking of getting a big corner shaped one from the likes of Pets At Home.

But then I spotted some "self cleaning" ones which would be good. Trouble is the reviews seem mixed, do any of them actually work?

Our kitten is four months old tomorrow but he's already a little bit too big for his standard sized open tray. He's really chilled so think he'd be happy using anything.

We have a Smart Cat covered litter tray. It's big enough for our beast. You put filters in the top, which kitty may or may not play with.

The 'self cleaning' ones aren't recommended by cat behaviourists.

I've got this corner one.

But yes, Little Monsieur rips the carbon filter out. Then eats bits of it. Sort of puts me in mind of 'cake farting.' Tasty.

*However, if I were a rich woman, I'd have a Modcat.

I've got a Modkat. Our thick Maine Coon often stands on the top and craps through the hole in the top, then goes into the tray to cover it up. The Shitten, when not preferring the at mat or hall rug for her poo, uses it normally.

Thanks, will have a look at them. The ModKat is very impressive looking! DP would go nuts if I spent that much. Grin

He'll definitely play with/rip out/destroy the filters you mention, he's very, um, spirited...

It is an utter pain in the arse to empty, and the liner is useless as the cats pull it away from the edge and piss between the liner and the box. We ditched the liners after a week! It does look lovely, but I don't think that just looking lovely is worth the effort or the price.

Grin @ The Shitten.

They're so aesthetically pleasing though... (Modcats, not Shittens.)

Just remembered, you can get cat litter trays stashed in what look like bathroom cabinets. Can't remember where from though. Amazon? Zooplus maybe?
