My beautiful boy was poisoned

Just had my beautiful boy put to sleep . His kidneys had failed and his other organs were on the way out too. The vet suspects antifreeze or weed killer but definite toxicity due to him going down hill so fast.

I'm still in shock . I've had my cat longer than I've had my kids ! He had turned 11 this September just gone.

I feel just a bit lost .

Oh god how awful, baby I am so sorry. I love my pets and take the best care of them at home that I can but out on the streets anyone can do anything. There's been a post going round FB of sausages laced with slug pellets. So sad for you, isn't enough but I hope you're ok.

The vet said because of the levels it must have been something he ingested .

He was my baby , the house already feels so strange without him

It sounds like he had a wonderful owner/mum you did your best to look after him, it sounds like he suffered less than a lot of cats.
I'm so sorry for your loss. You made him very happy and comfortable.

This is him. He was such a handsome chap. My other cat is a bit lost this morning. We are all still in a bit of shock.

Have yet to tell my 10 year old DD as she is with grandparents .

Thank you for all the well wishes . It still doesn't seem real . He has just always been here .

It's so hard isn't it? I remember still hearing the sounds of my last cat around the house, and I kept thinking I saw him out of the corner of my eye Your cat must have had a really lovely life with someone who cares for him so much. What was his name? I found it really helpful to talk about some of the funny things my cat did and remember the joy he brought to us.

Oh I'm so so sorry...we lost our dear boy almost a month ago to the same thing...it's just so unbearably awful.

His name was Mia . He was called that because when I first got him I was still living at home . My mum had said I could only have a cat if it was female. So I lied and told her he was a she and hence he was called Mia .

He was just a ball of fluff when I got him . He used to follow me everywhere. Jump on my lap before my bum hit the sofa ! He was also the only cat I know that would regularly jump in the bath ! Loved water!

He sounds brilliant :o love the story behind his name!
