is there a spray to put on wiring on the market that i can buy to put her off? she doesn't do it much but still a worry. don't fancy making up a gunk mixture of vaseline/lemon etc as messy. thanks

Maybe also have a look at this jeans? It's American so you need to overlook the different plug shapes and commercial references but the basic advice is OK.

thanks cozie. oddly enough i came across that site earlier today, that and about ten others. My head is spinning with all this reading. dh is a web designer/keyboard player so there is ALOT of technical stuff (leads) in the house, not all can be hidden away by any means. previous cat never touched wires, hoping this one will grow out of it. she only does it a little when she is in her evening mad mood. i have ordered this spray on amazon which apparently they hate. it was either that or make up some stuff using vaseline, lemon and something else (pepper i think) which i would prefer not to do. i also ordered some grass seeds to grown my own grass in the kitchen Grin dh thinks i am mad but he doesn't know anything about cats. i could take an exam on the subject, done so much reading about them the last month. our kitten is brilliant, totally mad for her Smile. never know what she is going to do next.

I'm a big fan of distraction in another part of the room - eg game playing with you or by herself. Did you manage to get a cardboard box for her for example?

jeanswithatwist · 11/04/2015 04:47

funny you should mention that. dh is well impressed with a triangular shaped/fashioned cardboard box thing i have made with added flaps!! she absolutely loves it. we spend most of the evening watching her thrash around at speed!! beats buying lots of fancy toys (or watching tv) Grin
