Foster Cat biting toddler

Am fostering two cats, and one of them bites and sucks from fingers. Not generally a problem, just a bit annoying and can hurt, but, 22 month old lo loves the cat and when sitting on the couch the cat will jump up and bite and suck lo's fingers, and it hurts.
I'm keeping them apart as much as possible, but, it's not helping the fact, and the cat actively seeks fingers to bite and suck.
Really need advice please?

It's much easier to teach general rules, so I'd say your best bet is to go with 'no biting and sucking of fingers at all' rather than 'no biting and sucking the baby's fingers'.

It depends on the cat how long it takes for them to learn. I've got a biter who is getting better but after a year we're only at a point of 'maybe sometimes I will remember not to bite, or not to bite too hard', mixed with a general 'keep your hands away from the cat when she's looking bitey' policy. But she is quite a serious character and I think a lot of cats would be quicker.

What I do is if she bites she gets a not shouted but stern voice 'No!' or 'Oi!' and I stop engaging with her. Also, if she bites down and doesn't let go, gently blowing in her face gets her to stop, as well as acting as a deterrent - they hate it.

I have a bitey bastard.

It took him a couple of years to learn not to bite. By lifting him off and putting him on the floor with a stern "NO".

Now when he goes to bite, you can see him change his mind. He runs away to stop himself.

Still wake up to him having a casual nibble on my fingers occasionally.

Cats love fingers and toes - like little baby mice, just the right size for a snack. Keep your little cuddlers apart and lift the cat off the babe.

I have to wear bedsocks to stop Mr Cory chewing my toes and I've bawled at him for years.
