getting rid of ants

Just went into the kitchen in the middle of the night to find loads of ants by kittens food bowl, quite freaked me out. Obviously I can't put poison down. Help! Any suggestions? Ta

Try putting the bowl in a larger container with some water in it so the ants don't reach the food? Or does that only work with dogs...

You can little round poison traps from wilkos, you can put small amounts of kitten food down then put the dish straight in the dishwasher.

Bait stations but you'll have to take the other source of food away.
