What am I going to do about George?!

I posted about fleaing and worming George a while ago and it was suggested that he has the six monthly flea jab which is fine (apart from me having to catch him every 6 months!).

I've held off doing this as his jabs are due in October so my plan is to take him this month and then again in 6 months time, which should reduce the stress to him a bit. I did manage to get some Advocate on him a couple of weeks ago although I didn't separate his fur very well so I don't know how much of it he got.

Regarding worming, I am NOT prepared to try to give him a tablet for both our sakes! I know Profender is 3 monthly so it's a possibility (as is worm powder if he'll take it) but I don't know if it covers all types of worms so I don't know if it's the best solution for him.

This brings me to whether or not he actually needs to be flea'd and wormed. He has a phobia of the back door so his 'outings' are limited to the days he can pluck up the courage to poke his head out and sniff the air! The one time he was missing for a couple of hours he'd sneaked back past my mother and was asleep upstairs!

Thanks for any advice. H is such an easy cat to look after so I'm not used to having to deal with one as highly strung as George!

I've found a flea on Seniorboy and he's only been outside twice in his life - once in 1997-ish when he went out on my Mum's back patio for 20 seconds and once about two years ago when he went out of the door here late one evening and had to be rescued from next door's front garden by some Japanese students who were strolling by at the time. As they do.

You can bring the eggs etc in with you, houses not being a closed environment. Having said which, I've never flead and wormed him as often as I would if he were an outside cat.

Right, so it needs to be done! I think I'm going to have to woman up and catch him and get this over and done with...

Well get me - George has now been Profendered! To say he's unhappy would be the understatement of the year but it's done for 3 months. I had a problem parting his fur again but I'm sure some got on how neck and hopefully the rest will seep though his fur.

He now hates me even more but it had to be done!
