My boy has gone :(

My lovely boy was pts yesterday. I can't believe how heartbroken I am.

I miss him so much, the house feels so empty and quiet. The children are beside themselves which is making it 10 times worse.

Please tell me it gets easier? I feel a fool

so sorry to hear this, how horrible for you.

yes it gets easier, we had so many pets as a child and every time one of them died it was awful and we would be heartbroken. but we would get over it. I still miss some of the cats I had as a child but in a happy sort of way.

it will get better, it's just part of being an animal lover unfortunately x

Please accept my absolute condolences. Our cat died suddenly last Friday so I'm on the journey with you.
Agree totally with the house feeling too empty. It's not as though cats are particularly noisy, but they leave a huge hole in our lives when they're gone.

I'm so sorry, wevecome.

You never forget them but Yes - it does get easier.

Sorry for your loss too Dido, oh he could be very noisy when he wanted to be. Wasn't afraid of vocalising his disgust at us humans!

I keep expecting him to leap on me demanding to be fed. This morning when I woke up I cried at the lack of cat purring round my head :(

So sorry, Flowers to you.

I'm sorry. My cat was pts in January and I'm a lot better than I was but still keep thinking I can see her out of the corner of my eye. Really didn't realise I'd miss her so much.

DiaryOfAWimpyMum · 04/03/2015 16:18

So sorry Flowers It does get easier in time.

I'm sorry. You've no reason to feel a fool; you loved your little friend and that makes you a loving person. I lost my beautiful girl three weeks ago and am coming to terms with it now, it does get easier but you will always love your boy.

fenneltea · 05/03/2015 10:17

You aren't a fool at all, I am exactly the same and lost one of my six cats a couple of weeks ago. For all there are five other cats in the house I still miss him dreadfully. It does get easier with time, I console myself by remember happier times and knowing that I did my best to give him a good life. Flowers

Sorry to all of you going through this.

We got him from a rescue centre at 6 months old. He was 14 this month. I like to think we gave him a good life, he enjoyed nothing more than stretching out on the radiator and lying in the sun.

I feel guilty that I made the decision to have him pts. He had an aggressive tumour that would have spread very quickly and I couldn't bear for him to have been in pain.

I hate coming home from work and not seeing him running to greet me :(

Over 13 years of love and then all pain prevented. That's pretty good, I think.
