Sooner than I expected, I had to make that call to the vets today. :(

Ichabod was a beautiful black stray who turned up out of the blue and was never claimed. He was the cat with the heart of a lion who defended his 'brother' cat from a staffordshire bull terrier. He loved children and would follow them anywhere allowing himself to be carted about by them. He visited every house with food and children in the village.

He was the cat that taught me to love cats, and I can't thank him enough for that.

God bless you Ichabod, I'll miss you more than you can know. xx :(

So sorry. That lovely description has made me teary eyed.

chockbic · 19/02/2015 16:27

Sad, he sounded very loved.

MincePieDiet · 19/02/2015 16:28

We have our own version of him, also a stray who arrived to live out his days with us. I think that's why I felt so emotional reading it as ours is a fair age.

MrsFring · 19/02/2015 16:59

He sounds like a wonderful boy with a heart to match. RIP.

Thank you for taking in someone who became your angel-warrior cat and friend. They know the right people to come to. Bless you, fenneltea and Ichabod

He sounds awesome, and yes, a little cat angel.

And what a lovely name you gave him.

He sounds a little legend. I'm so sorry he's gone.

fenneltea · 20/02/2015 08:07

Thankyou everyone, last night was difficult with no little paw that kept pressing my leg while I was making dinner, and no black lump snuggling at my feet in bed.

For all there are five other cats in the house it is amazing the hole he has left. I know it was the right thing for him though and we have lots of happy memories of him .

Thoughts to all of you missing your much loved pets too, and I hope you still have many happy times ahead with your boy mincepiediets. xx
