Ginger and white newly adopted kitten

We adopted a kitten, 10 weeks old, only today from the Cats Protection.

She seems to be settling in OK, but she's hiding in her basket now possibly feeling a little overwhelmed.

There's something I'm worried about - she had eyedrops for a while due to an infection but she also has a runny nose and is sneezing now and again. I've not come across this with my other cats.

We have an appointment at the vets next week for her second set of jabs. Should I take her before that though due to her runny little nose? I did google it and it says cats can get common bugs and she has come from a home that was described as being in 'a bit of a state.'

Any advice welcome, also we have a bold 7 month old tabby but she's uncharacteristically keeping away and seems a bit nervous of her!

She may have cat flu. It's very common, especially in rescue centres. If her eyes look ok and she's still eating then it can wait until you see the vet in a few days.

Pets at home vets are open Sundays, you need to book early because its full of all the other pets who chose to get ill on a weekend.

But it will put your mind at ease. She is still very young.
