Can cats get colds?

My little Mia (8 month old) generally has wet eyes due to being a persian but her left seems stickier than normal and she's sneezing a lot with a bit of clear mucous from her nose.

She's sleeping a bit more but is eating and drinking and going potty normally from what I've observed.

She's had her injections though would have to get her book out to see which specific ones.

Worth a vet visit?

There's more than one type of flu virus, juneybean, so Yes - she could have got a cold despite having had her regular shots. How long has the runny nose and sneezing been going on for?

Just two or three days. She still seems very playful just a bit snotty.

Sticky eyes can be a sign of respiratory problems in cats. A quick trip to the vet can rule that out.

It's all gone away today, have been wiping her eyes regularly and she seems much better.

Good.

As far as I know (but happy to be corrected) you can't do much for a flu/cold other than keep them warm and cross your fingers that their immune system will cope - because it's a virus infection. (Seniorboy has ABs but that's down to secondary bacterial infections that he develops because his immune system is shot.)

Maybe keep an eye on her in later years and try to ensure that she doesn't get too stressed by anything?

Ooh thank you! I don't have children to worry about yet so am definitely PFC over her Wink
