She's tabby with bits of ginger. We want a cool, funky name. Anyone any ideas? Kids think either Tiger(lily) or Daphne.

I think we probably need a picture to see first, Middle.

I know a gorgeous tabby-tortie (your girl sounds like she's one of those) called Mango.

AmantesSuntAmentes · 26/01/2015 23:48

Bast (as in the cat goddess/ mother of cats!)

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 27/01/2015 10:31

Will upload photo this evening.
Thx both - I like those names - got to get them DD approval though!

Claudia

If she's to go outside, an 'eeee' sound in the name is good for calling her - and two syllables as well. Daphne sounds fine.

Or Claudie (Claw-dee, get it?)

CountessDracula · 27/01/2015 15:03

we have a red dog called Margo and everyone seems to love her name!
(not very cool or funky though)

Mattie for short. Smile And the good thing is that that can't be 'nicknamed' easily. You have to think of that - eg 'Daphne' could quickly become 'Daftie' - just as with human names. (With cats you have the added responsibility of choosing a name which you can realistically call in the back garden of course.)

She's gorgeous by the way.

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 27/01/2015 23:23

Thanks Cozie. I like Mattie.
I think Sybil is also in the running Sad.
I still like Tiger too though.

We always call our Siamese by broadly the same name so avoid the angst of name choosing. Grin

Just call her what you fancy, I think. Her real name will 'settle' eventually. (I've known so many cats who started off with one name and ended up with another!)

Kim82 · 27/01/2015 23:32

One of my cats is a tabby with bits of ginger, she's called Dory. Her sister is called Biskit - are those names any good (I'm aware they're not to everyone's taste lol).

bettyboop1970 · 27/01/2015 23:36

Very cute Smile

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 28/01/2015 22:22

I lime Biskit!
