Time to let her go

My Persian is 14
She has kidney failure. I know this because I took her blood a couple of weeks ago at work
She is drinking constantly now and in the last couple of days has stopped eating
She sits all hunched up in the strangest places and every now and then makes the strangest meowing noise
She is going to be PTS at 11am
I will miss her so much, despite the house being covered in incontinence pads due to her unreliable toilet habits (she has always been like that its not due to her kidneys)
She is older that DS2. It will be weird without her

I'm so sorry to hear this. At least you can be with her and she will be peaceful, but it must be really hard.

Oh I'm really sorry. I had my 14 year old cat put to sleep a couple of weeks ago and it was a very hard decision to make. I knew it was the right decision but it didn't make it easier. She'd been there before children (XH and I decided to get a cat before having children to see if we could manage) and I am missing her a lot.

The actual procedure was very calm and the vet was excellent. I totally trusted him and it was done sensitively. I will be thinking of you at 11.

It's done. It was really peaceful. Because I work there I was able to be with her and help with the procedure. She was such a laid back cat anyway, despite being a tortoiseshell, she didn't even flinch.
Dh is burying her in the garden. Its a relief really but I feel a bit lost

Sad for you, but you made the best decision for her.

My Darling Twoago died at 13 of kidney failure and I've long wished that I'd taken the action you have. Hard - but quite the kindest and most loving thing to do.
