Issues with Mr Cory and the Santa hat

So despite buying an avalanche of giftery, cards, food and decorations for the festive period, I have only just managed to achieve the critical purchase of the year - a new Santa hat, with elastic and matching scarf from Poundland for fat tabby Mr Cory.

He really, really doesn't want to put it on. I'm-off-to-the-Minor-Injuries-Walk-In doesn't fancy it. Two hours effort so far. Any tips? I daren't lose any more blood.

Don't do it, ours freaks out at this kind of thing too.

Have a baileys instead.

When MCat's hat arrived, there was a bit of angst. Then I levelled with him, woman to cat. "Please wear the hat, I know you feel a bit silly, but it will make mummy really, really happy." And then bribed him with a LOT of Dreamies, feeding them to him whilst putting the hat on him.

Now, when the hat comes out, he runs towards it because he associates it with those delicious morsels of catty crack. He is also a bit of an attention-whore, so enjoys the admiring glances.

Mr Cory has a distinguished look of disdain for the proceedings about him. Have the woman to cat chat with him. With copious Dreamies to distract him from the hat-wearing activities.

The secret is to have two dds between the ages of 8 and 13....
Leave said hat and scarf laying nonchalantly around. Before you know it, the cat will be dressed! Says she who found two cats dressed in doll's bonnets and cardigans once.

Attempted to purchase santa hats from Poundland, but they're sold out.

Bad luck, rubbish - mind you, it saves getting an arterial bleed from your little tinker just before the big day.

But I did manage to get my petit monsiers these beautiful bow ties!

Such fabulous festive felines! They look like furry James Bonds, vair debonair.

I buy the cats and dogs Christmas jumpers every year

The dogs happily wear theirs but I make Dp wrestle the moggys into theirs tomorrow morning before the kids get up.
Poor Dp get mauled at 6am every year

My cats would tell you that only daft humans and dogs wear outfits.
